外国人相談窓口 (Foreign Residents Consultation Desks)

Many foreigners living in Tokyo are probably not aware that the government provides free consultation services specifically for them. These services are called 外国人相談窓口 (Foreign Residents Consultation Desks).


In Tokyo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government operates consultation centers where you can seek advice on everyday issues such as daily life, work, family matters, legal concerns, and Japanese systems. These services are free of charge, confidential, and available in multiple languages.


You can usually visit in person without reservation. Staff can also guide you to the appropriate government department or specialist if needed.


If you are facing any difficulties, such as paperwork, workplace problems, or simply not understanding how things work in Japan. These consultation desks exist to support you.
